Mental Health First Aider
In my time as an Occupational Therapist I have worked with a wide range of people, in a variety of settings and roles. I encourage the people I work with to use meaningful activity as a way of coping with the challenges of the world; to create routines, habits and overcome barriers to wellbeing such as health conditions or low motivation.
Empowering people, promoting independence and reducing stigma around mental health is important to me. I am keen on preventive wellbeing options for people to keep well; both physically and mentally.
I have an interest in neurodiversity and recently I have been working with students who have ADHD; setting up a peer support group so they can share experiences and learn from each other.
In my free time I enjoy being outside either in my garden or walking in nature.
My ethos is to treat every person as a unique individual, to promote independence, to enable you to thrive. I aim to help you set and achieve your goals to unlock your full potential.
I can offer time and space to let you talk about how you feel and strategies to help you cope.
