Occupational therapy is a health profession that takes a whole-person approach to both mental and physical health and wellbeing.
Occupational therapists provide practical support to empower people to facilitate recovery and overcome barriers preventing them from doing the activities (or occupations) that matter to them.
"Occupation" as a term refers to practical and purposeful activities that allow people to live independently and have a sense of identity. This could be essential day-to-day tasks such as self-care, work, school or leisure.
Your occupational therapist will help you to set goals and work towards these together and may look at roles and routines, identity, mental health and self esteem and sensory issues.
All of our occupational therapists have additional specialist training and experience in psychological therapies and bring their skills together to offer individually tailored therapeutic interventions and support for each client.
